MY husbands Uncle was at the Battle of the Bulge..if I recall correctly he was a driver for Patton..and we always wished we had asked him more about it. Few are left from the original 150 that began the group, but I always pause when I look around the room and wonder about the untold stories. They never brag except in jest. There are those who were prisoners of war who hide the memories the best they can. I have to wonder how many walking wounded there are from so many wars unable to find friendship with others who experienced the same.

Honorable post.Tattered and Losthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00208918251232477186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-355026355428876717.post-64431995402692998502010-12-19T16:13:30.896-08:002010-12-19T16:13:30.896-08:00I rest my case...

My dad was affected mentally by it and would talk about it all the time without any cue from anybody. He got worse when he was dying as he was haunted by it forever. My mom would shut him down every chance she could but it didn't stop him from talking.L. It's noticeable to me that people in the USA seem to know more about their family background than many of us in the UK, myself included.Bob Scotneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00662958579705940009noreply@blogger.com
